Certain state laws, Washington's My Health My Data Act among them, make any business that gathers “consumer health data” publish a policy explaining how it handles that data.
We put this page up to be clear about where we stand: FireProtectionHires does not gather consumer health data at all.
What FireProtectionHires is
FireProtectionHires is a hiring platform: it publishes job listings and career material for people who work in fire protection or hope to, from sprinkler apprentices and fitters to fire alarm technicians, inspectors and designers.
We offer no health or medical services whatsoever, we do not carry out or arrange fire protection work, and we gather nothing about anybody's health or medical history.
This site is about fire protection careers, and your health is outside its scope.
Data we never gather
We neither gather, process, share nor sell consumer health data as the Washington My Health My Data Act or comparable state laws define it.
In particular, none of the following is gathered:
- medications, treatments, diagnoses or health conditions;
- details of any procedure a person looked for or had;
- genetic or biometric data;
- exact location data that might reveal someone seeking health care;
- anything inferred about the items above from the way you browse the site.
People looking for work browse and apply with no account, and their applications travel straight to the employer.
The small amount of information we do gather (from employers who post jobs, plus routine technical request data) is covered in our Privacy Policy .
Should this ever change
If we ever begin doing anything that involves consumer health data, this policy will be revised first, and we will give whatever notices and consent options the relevant law calls for.
Contact and requests
If you think we have consumer health data about you, or you want to ask anything about this policy, email [email protected] and you will get an answer within the period the relevant law allows.
